Motorhead Create 'Thunder & Lightning' on New Song

Singer and bassist Lemmy Kilmister gets reflective on aggressive new 'Bad Magic' track

Motörhead are wasting no time in giving fans their new material. Following last week's announcement of their upcoming album Bad Magic, the speed metal legends have released the electric song "Thunder & Lightning."

The appropriately aggressive new track has Lemmy Kilmister getting reflective over the pounding instruments. "Life on the road isn't easy my friend," he sings. "You can remember, you can pretend/All of your dreams can really come true/All of your nightmares are waiting there too."

Bad Magic, Motörhead's 22nd album, will be released on August 28th. Kilmister first tipped off a follow-up to 2013's Aftershock in September during an interview with radio show Full Metal Jackie. "We don't have a plan," the singer and bassist said. "Motörhead never has a plan."
The band confirmed Bad Magic on their official site last week, though there had been several Instagram videos posted back in February showing the band working with longtime producer Cameron Webb.
New music is not the only big milestone for 2015, as Motörhead will celebrate their 40th year as a band with an Anniversary European tour. The tour kicks off in Paris on November 15th and runs through December 3rd, with additional shows set to be announced.

Over the summer, the band will play festival dates across Europe and Asia, including Glastonbury and Japan's Fuji Rock Festival. In between, they will set sail on the second annual Motörboat Cruise with Anthrax and Slayer.
